Myuna Bay Sprint Championship Results

by Grant Wakefield and Bob Chapman

Peter Robinson (AUS 750) wins Myuna Bay Sprints event.

After a close first day's racing at the NSW Sprint champs where the top 3 sailors were separated by 3 points after 4 races, the second day delivered an equally close finale to the regatta with Peter Robinson posting 2 and 2 and Tim Davies posting 3 and 3 to hand Robinson the win. Eddie O'Donnell, who sat in 3rd after day 1 posted a 9 and 1st on day 2 to put himself out of contention.

Bob Chapman, with a consistent series and a well deserved podium in the second race, is this season's winner of the Myuna Bay Handicap trophy.

Two days of racing in contrasting conditions offered up some very enjoyable and challenging racing. The waters off Drummoyne, the venue for the Australian Championship in January, delivered with abundance.

The event would not have been possible without the contribution of our race committee - Alex Palmer and Jo Dwyer - and the support boat crews of Peter Horne,  Mark Skelton, Jess Stephenson and Claire Lundsman - many thanks!
