The Sydney Harbour Championships will return to the harbour this season but the venue and program for heats 3-4 are as yet unconfirmed. Once the season starts we will be able to confirm whether the Sydney Flying Squadron will be able to run these races on this date. As it's a first we may change this to a "trial" and exclude these results from the overall championship. TBA.
As with last season we are having to compress a lot of events into the early part of the season due to having to plan for many who'll ship boats Feb/Mar to the Worlds in Thailand. It also, unfortunately, means that we get a complete overlap with Victoria for their prime events - sorry but much effort was expended in trying to otherwise make it all fit!
Big River is again the sole event for this season's Inland Waters trophy - I hear rumours that Port Stephens is hoping to be back and running soon so we should be able to return to Soldiers Point next year.
Season opener is the Myuna Bay National Sprint Championships - all welcome and hopefully some from interstate will make it for this great regatta.
Wangi kicks off their season program on Sat 1st Sep with a gala day and Drummoyne the following Sunday, 9th Sep. If anyone is interested in sailing an OK just rock up to either club or any of the association events and you'll be assured a friendly welcome and all assistance to help you into an OK Dinghy.
